More than 120 clinics in the VetStrategy network joined forces for our three-week-long Holiday Food Drive in December 2022. It was our way of participating in Giving Tuesday, the world’s largest generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities. Clinics collected food, toys, personal hygiene items, toys, and pet products for food banks and social service agencies. Head office staff also participated by dropping off donations at our office in Woodbridge, ON for The Food Bank of York Region. For some added fun, clinics were encouraged to enter a friendly competition that tracked the total amount of donations per practice.

The Top 3 Clinics (by donation weight) were:

  • 1st Place: Springer Animal Hospital (Sturgeon Falls, ON) in support of West Nipissing Food Bank, Markstay-Warren Food Bank, and Nipissing First Nation Food Bank
  • 2nd Place: Companion Animal Hospital (Dartmouth, NS) in support of Feed Nova Scotia
  • 3rd Place Tie: Alouette Animal Hospital (Maple Ridge, BC) in support of Maple Ridge Friends in Need Food Bank, Alouette Addictions, and SAINTS
  • 3rd Place Tie: Georgetown Animal Clinic (Georgetown, ON) in support of Georgetown Bread Basket

These top-placing clinics won cash for their OSCAR Fund (or local equivalent).  That being said,  we congratulate all our practices for taking part in this initiative. They have all made a difference in the lives of people and cherished pets in need over the holiday season.
