Supporting people, pets and communities through Community Grants
June 10, 2026
11 organizations were recently awarded Community Grants in support of initiatives that strengthen the wellbeing of both pets and people.
Across our communities, organizations are working every day to support people and pets through life’s challenges, often quietly and behind the scenes. Whether it’s supporting senior community members, helping local families facing food insecurity, assisting individuals in crisis, or giving rescue animals a second chance, these charities and non-profit organizations play an essential role in building healthier and more compassionate communities.
We are proud to award Q2 Community Grants to organizations whose work is creating a positive impact where it is needed most.
Together, these recipients remind us that even small acts of support can create meaningful change, and that by working together, we can continue to be a Force for Good in the communities we serve.
Each organization was selected by our practice teams for the meaningful impact they play in supporting and strengthening their communities. Our teams shared why these causes resonated with them.
“Our team has compassion and empathy for the important work carried out by people who often work behind the scenes. The Centre de crise de Québec manages cases that, unfortunately, are increasing in our beautiful Québec City. Their teams are available 24/7 to provide support, made possible through the generosity and dedication of each individual. It is such a difficult, yet incredibly important role for the entire community and for public safety. As citizens, this is our way of helping the organization continue its work to make the community a little safer and to support people in crisis as they navigate difficult moments with ongoing care and assistance.”
– Isabelle Hallé, Practice Manager at Clinique vétérinaire Beauport
‘’Choosing the Lions Sick Children’s Fund as the recipient of our Community Grant this quarter was an incredibly meaningful decision—both professionally and personally. The Fund’s mission to support New Brunswick families facing overwhelming medical and treatment expenses deeply resonates with me. As a Practice Manager, I see every day how strong the bond is between families and their loved ones—whether two-legged or four—and how important compassionate support systems are during difficult times.
This cause is especially close to my heart because of my niece, Sophia. Sophia is 2.5 years old and lives with Cerebral Palsy following severe complications at birth that required hospitalization for the first two weeks of her life. Despite the challenges she faces, she is the strongest, bravest, and happiest little girl I know.
When our team had the opportunity to present the donation at the Greater Moncton Dragon Boat Festival, it was incredibly special to have Sophia there with us—proudly at the front with her walker. It was a powerful reminder of exactly why initiatives like this matter.
Grants like this don’t just provide financial relief—they provide hope, support, and community. Sometimes that impact reaches families we may never meet, and sometimes, it touches very close to home—even within our own team.
I’m incredibly proud to be part of an organization that values giving back and recognizes the importance of supporting families like mine across New Brunswick. ’’
– Cali Hicks, Practice Manager at Riverview Animal Health Centre
Reflecting on their decision to support these organizations, the team at Gillies Grove Animal Hospital shared:
‘’What The Big House Sanctuary and Rehab do to get our chubby kitty friends back in shape and improve their health is both unique and commendable. The overweight cats often get overlooked or are not placed on a weight-loss program and The Big House give these cats a chance for a better quality of life.’’
– Megan Dugdale, Practice Manager at Gillies Grove Animal Hospital
‘’ Arnprior-Braeside-Mcnab Seniors at Home provides much needed services to some of the most venerable members of our community. Their services provide our senior community members with the things they need both physically and mentally to maintain a happy quality of life while remaining in their homes. We are so happy to be a part of what they do.’’
– Megan Dugdale, Practice Manager at Gillies Grove Animal Hospital
