In celebration of Earth Day, recognized each year on April 22, our practices once again had the opportunity to take part in our sustainability pledge campaign.

Now in its second year, this initiative invited teams to create and share a sustainability pledge which reflects the steps they intend to take to reduce their environmental footprint throughout the year. These commitments reflect our shared dedication to environmental stewardship, one meaningful action at a time.

Committing to a sustainability pledge is a simple yet relevant way for practices to make ongoing improvements, whether by reducing waste, adopting eco‑friendly products, conserving energy, or rethinking resource use. These actions not only support the health of our planet but can also lead to meaningful operational benefits, such as lower energy consumption and reduced supply costs.

Hear from one of our teams

‘’The Valley Veterinary Services team strongly believes in supporting our community. We are passionate about volunteering our time, being able to donate community grants and making a difference with our sustainability initiatives for our Earth Day Pledge.

The teams at Valley Veterinary Services, Cottonwood Veterinary, and Sardis Animal Hospital have joined forces and adopted a road in our local community. By maintaining this roadway, we are sharing our commitment with like-minded teams and managers that believe we can ALL make a difference!’’

-Cindy Arnold, Practice Manager at Valley Veterinary Services

2026 sustainability pledges

Each pledge showcases the creativity and commitment of our teams as they work toward a healthier environment for both our patients and our people. Together, these efforts demonstrate how small, consistent changes can create a significant collective impact.

Congratulations!

To help practices turn their ideas into action, three participating locations were randomly selected to each receive $100 to support the implementation of their sustainability initiatives. Congratulations to: Westbridge Veterinary Hospital, Valley Veterinary Services and Clinique vétérinaire de l’Estuaire Mont-Joli.

As part of their sustainability pledge, Animal Hospital of Cambridge will safely dispose of used batteries by bringing them to a collection facility for proper disposal. They will use a water dispenser with refillable water jugs instead of single-use bottles for their team. They will also continue to recycle paper, cardboard, plastics, and metals from hospital supplies and personal items.

Through our Positive Pawprint strategy, we are committed to investing time and resources into driving positive change within our business, supply chain, and the wider profession. Let’s celebrate our collective efforts and inspire others to take meaningful actions for a sustainable future!
