This year’s recipients represent an inspirational range of causes and we’re uplifted by the positive impact our veterinary teams are making beyond our practice walls.

During the 2024 fiscal year, our Community Grants program empowered 54 practices and Support Office to make a difference in their communities. More than 50 deserving organizations received a total of $82,500 thanks to your nominations! From animal welfare initiatives to human health focused charities to an organization supporting the 2SLGBTQIA community, practices teams collaborated to identify causes they were passionate about.

We are proud to have supported an inspiring range of causes and amplify the positive impact our teams can make in the community through the Community Grants program.

Wrapping up the year with our Q4 recipients

The team at Deer Park Pet Hospital (Red Deer, AB) successfully nominated local charity, Whisker Rescue, receiving a $1,500 donation. Practice Manager Chaya Rusaw shared that “they are 100% volunteer-run which makes it so the community can benefit through their multiple programs. They provide various services such as spay/neuter subsidies and senior cats for seniors. They also have their own series of sanctuaries for cats that are unlikely to be adopted, where they can live out their days on an acreage with free roam or a homelike environment with specialized ‘catios’ to enjoy all the best parts of their whiskered lives.”

“At Whisker Rescue, our passion is to help reduce the stray cat overpopulation crisis. These funds will help us immensely toward that goal! Not only will it help us save lives and countless unwanted litters, but it will help so many community members through our subsidized spay and neuter programs. We are absolutely honoured to be chosen!’” – Stacy, Co-Founder of Whisker Rescue
