Our 1st quarter recipients embody the generosity, compassion, and desire to be a force for good that drives our teams across the country. Through the Community Grants program, practice teams are supporting causes that reflect our values, and our desire to make a positive contribution to the communities where we live and work.

During Q1, practices across our network came together to support 12 organizations making a meaningful impact in the communities we serveFrom an organization helping the canine overpopulation within First Nations and Inuit communities in Québec to a local food bank, to a women’s support organization and more, each grant reflects the causes that matter most to our team.

While every grant tells a meaningful story, some causes hold a particularly personal significance for our teams.

For colleagues at Orleans Veterinary Hospital, their Community Grant took on a deep personal meaning.

Through the Community Grants program, our team was given the opportunity to support a cause that became deeply personal to us this year. When one of our team members was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, we wanted to stand beside her as she navigated treatment and recovery. Each Wednesday, our team wears purple as a symbol of support and to raise awareness for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Thanks to the Community Grant program, we were also able to make a donation to Lymphoma Canada, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by this disease. Being able to give back to a cause that truly resonates with our hospital has been incredibly meaningful and heartwarming.

The South East Rocky View Food Bank Society, recipient of Langdon Veterinary Clinic’s $1,000 Community Grant shared a warm thank you note to the team:

“Our heartfelt thanks to the Langdon Veterinary Clinic for this generous Community Grant. Because of their kindness, we are able to continue providing much needed nourishment and support to the families we serve and their beloved pets.”

These stories are just two examples of how our teams are turning compassion into action. The Community Grants program continues to empower practices to support the people, animals, and organizations that strengthen their local communities. We look forward to seeing the impact our teams will make in the quarters ahead.
