Orin Litman
Chief Executive Officer
Orin is a co-founder of VetStrategy and, over many years, has led the company’s growth through his guiding beliefs of patient care, client service, and support for our teams.
Prior to becoming involved in the veterinary industry, Orin worked with Katz Group Canada (Rexall, PharmaPlus, Medicine Shoppe) where he was involved in franchising, acquisitions, real-estate, and development. Orin was also a founding member of the LEADER Entrepreneurship Program and has been involved in management consulting where he has focused on alternative energy and professional sports.
Orin holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Jason Christie
Chief Operating Officer
Jason began his career as a management consultant and specialized in operations management and corporate strategy.
He was an original partner in the early stages of VetStrategy and has been engaged with the company in a variety of capacities as it has grown to be a leader in the Canadian veterinary marketplace. Most recently, Jason was an executive at CIBC leading operational teams and strategy development in a cross-Canada retail environment.
Jason holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Maura Richardson
Chief People Officer
Maura joined VetStrategy in 2018 as Chief People Officer. As a Senior HR, organizational design, change and talent management leader, she is known for creating strategy and driving execution for some of the world’s most recognized retail and consumer packaged goods brands. Maura has served in a variety of HR leadership roles both within the United States and Canada. Prior to joining VetStrategy, Maura was leading the Canadian HR team for a large scale global retail organization.
With a CHRE designation, Maura builds strong partnerships across the organization as a brand champion and supports strong culture building initiatives, enhancing talent attraction, engagement, and retention.
Steven Franks
Chief Financial Officer
Steven joined VetStrategy as Chief Financial Officer in 2022. During his career, Steven has held various financial positions across the Telecommunications, Retail, and Financial Services Industry. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer for Alliance Corporation, a multi-national distribution and manufacturing company in the Wireless Telecommunications Industry. Prior to Alliance Corporation, Steven worked at The Home Depot of Canada in various financial roles. Steven is happy to venture into the next chapter of his career with our company.
Outside of work, Steven enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. He is married with two young children.
Mat Kaminski
Chief of Staff
Mat joined VetStrategy as Chief of Staff in 2020. He has over 10 years of experience in the investment and finance fields, having worked most recently at Imperial Capital Group Ltd. During his time with Imperial Capital, Mat worked closely with VetStrategy for approximately four years, which allowed him to become well-versed in our business model and corporate culture.
Dr. Michelle Cutler
National Medical Director
Michelle graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2000. After graduation, she practiced in a small animal hospital in the greater Toronto area until becoming National Medical Director for VetStrategy in 2014. As Medical Director, Michelle coordinates continuing education programs, interacts with industry partners to introduce new products and services to our clinics, and provides medical opinions when needed.
Michelle has a special interest in canine rehabilitation and veterinary acupuncture. She lives in Toronto with her husband Orin, their 3 boys and 2 dogs. When not working, you can find Michelle eating chocolate, walking the dogs and chasing after the kids!
Lisa MacIntyre-Smith
Executive VP, Business Development
Lisa has been working in business development for over 18 years and, with her team, leads the formation of new business partnerships. When asked what Lisa likes most about her role, the answer is always the same, “meeting people, hearing their stories and knowing I can help.”
Throughout her career in the veterinary industry, she has facilitated succession plan transitions for over 80 clinics across Canada. Recognized by her partners as a genuine advocate for their success, she builds bridges and encourages fruitful communication: “Even with all of the modern technology available, I still prefer meeting people in person. Maybe it’s the East Coast in me.” Originally from PEI, she lives in Halifax with her husband, their two children and two whimsical cats.
