Over the next 3 years, students at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) can apply for one-year scholarships as part of a new Daubigny Fund for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. A total of nine 1-year-long scholarships for nine students are being offered.

“Daubigny and VetStrategy are proud to support BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) students during their training in the veterinary profession. We look forward to this partnership with Université de Montréal and the students we will be supporting over the coming 3 years,” said Dr. Amélie Leclerc, Partner, Specialist Recruitment.

As part of our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, a one-year scholarship will be awarded in each of the next 3 years to 1 BIPOC student, 1 Indigenous student and 1 student involved in the school’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee. Scholarships will range from $1,500 – $2,500 and applications will be accepted by the university this Fall 2022.

We connected with Dr. Christine Theoret, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to understand the importance of this partnership and how the new scholarships will positively impact students.

“The values of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are a priority for our faculty. The Faculty and the University wish to be part of the solution to improve the underrepresentation of the Black community and other communities and ethnic groups within the veterinary profession. We are very pleased with Daubigny Group and VetStrategy’s initiative and financial support.”
